Privacy Policy
This policy covers the ClearTurn web app that salons use at the counter and on the owner’s dashboard, and this website, clearturn.app. It explains what information ClearTurn holds, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
ClearTurn is a turn-rotation system for nail salons. It is operated by CROSS COUNTY ELITE NAIL LLC, 324 West 71st Street, New York, NY 10023 (“we”, “us”).
Each salon that uses ClearTurn, including a salon trying it in a pilot, decides which staff and which logins it adds. We operate the service and process that information on the salon’s behalf, for the salon’s own records.
For any privacy question or request, write to support@clearturn.app.
Information we collect
What ClearTurn holds depends on who you are.
Salon owners and managers (people with a login)
- Your email address, your display name, your role (owner or manager) and the salon your login belongs to.
- Your password. It is handled by our sign-in provider, Supabase, and is not stored in ClearTurn’s own records.
- Whether your login is active.
- A record of what you do in ClearTurn: the turns you assign, the corrections you make and the settings you change, each with its time.
Technicians
Technicians do not have a login. The salon adds them, and ClearTurn keeps:
- The name shown on the screen, an optional nickname, a color used on the screen, the skill group (for example acrylic or mani-pedi), the place in the salon’s list, and whether the technician is active.
- Schedule and time records: scheduled start time, check-in time, whether the technician checked in with their own PIN, breaks and their kind (lunch, short, personal), status changes during the day, and the time they went home.
- Turn records: each turn, adjustment and penalty (for example for a late arrival or a turn lock), with its reason, and each day’s totals (turns and number of clients).
- A four-digit PIN for self check-in, if the salon sets one. ClearTurn stores only a protected form of it, never the PIN itself (see Data security).
Salon customers
ClearTurn does not store salon customers’ names, phone numbers or other contact details. A visit record holds its type (for example walk-in or regular), its times and the technician who served it. Older visit records may include a service amount. ClearTurn does not collect or store payment card or bank information.
Notes written by staff
Owners and managers can type short reasons when they correct a turn, override the order, void a visit or lock a turn. ClearTurn stores these reasons with the record they explain. Please do not write health information or other personal details in them.
Security records
- PIN attempt records: each self check-in attempt, its time, which login and salon sent it, and whether the PIN was right; and each PIN’s lockout state.
- Counter unlock records: when an owner or manager unlocks the counter screen, a record of which counter login was unlocked, by whom, and until when.
This website
This website has no forms, no accounts, no analytics and no cookies. Like every website, each request to it passes through our host, Vercel, which keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time) to run and protect its service. ClearTurn’s web app is hosted the same way, and our sign-in provider keeps similar logs.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and keep it to answer you.
How we use information
- Running the turn rotation: deciding who is next, recording turns and explaining each place in line.
- Accounts and sign-in: letting owners and managers sign in, and limiting what each role can do.
- Security: for example, limiting PIN attempts. After 5 wrong PINs a technician’s PIN locks for 15 minutes, and after 10 it is turned off until the owner sets a new one.
- Keeping the salon’s records: turn history, correction history and the reports the salon’s owner reads.
- Answering you when you write to us.
How information is shared
Inside a salon, the owner and managers see their salon’s information, and the counter screen shows technicians’ names, turns and status to the people at the counter. One salon cannot see another salon’s information.
Outside the salon, we share information only with the service providers that run ClearTurn:
- Supabase holds the web app’s database, handles sign-in, and sends live updates to the counter screen. Supabase privacy policy · Supabase security
- Vercel hosts the web app and this website, and runs the app’s scheduled jobs, such as closing the day. Vercel privacy notice · Vercel security
- Cloudflare provides this website’s DNS and routes email sent to @clearturn.app addresses. It does not process the web app’s data. Cloudflare privacy policy · Cloudflare Trust Hub
- Google Workspace stores the mailbox that receives email sent to @clearturn.app addresses. It does not process the web app’s data. Google privacy policy
These providers handle the information only to provide their services to us. We use only providers whose terms require them to keep the information secure and to use it only to provide their service to us, and we expect them to protect it at least as carefully as this policy describes. We never sell information and never use it for advertising. We disclose information to anyone else only if the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
The ClearTurn web app uses only what it needs to work:
- A sign-in session cookie, strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
- A counter-unlock cookie (tt-counter-access), set for 5 minutes when an owner or manager unlocks the counter screen. ClearTurn stores only a hash of its token, never the token itself.
- Browser local storage on the counter device, for two things: an offline queue of pending assignments, kept until they reach the server, and the board page last viewed.
There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Data security
- The web app and this website are served over HTTPS.
- PINs are never stored as written. ClearTurn stores a salted hash of each PIN, mixed with a separate secret that is kept outside the database.
- Access is limited by role: each login belongs to one salon, and some actions are open only to the owner. Every request is checked against the salon of the signed-in login, so one salon cannot read or change another salon’s records.
- PIN attempts are limited and recorded, as described above.
- Our service providers protect their own systems as described on their security pages, linked above.
Data retention
- Turn, visit and correction records are the salon’s business records. They are kept while the salon uses ClearTurn.
- Login information is kept while the login exists, and is deleted on request as described in the next section.
- PIN attempt records and lockout state are currently kept until deleted. There is no automatic retention limit yet.
- Counter unlock records expire after 5 minutes and are cleared the next time that counter is unlocked.
- Email you send us is kept as a record of what you asked and how we answered.
If a salon stops using ClearTurn, its information is kept until the salon asks us to delete it. Nothing is deleted automatically today.
Your choices and account deletion
You can ask to see the information ClearTurn holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send your request to your salon’s owner, or write to us at support@clearturn.app. We coordinate with the salon and respond within 30 days.
To delete a ClearTurn login, follow the steps on Delete your ClearTurn account. We delete the sign-in account and the personal information tied to it. The salon’s turn and correction records stay, because they are the salon’s business records; past entries may still show the name that was on them, unless the law requires us to remove it.
Turning a login off in the salon’s settings is not the same as deleting it.
Children
ClearTurn is a workplace tool. It is not directed to children under 13, and children do not use it. If you believe a child’s information is in ClearTurn, write to support@clearturn.app and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. We will update it before any ClearTurn mobile app collects new kinds of information.
